How to care for your new curtains
Share
Your new curtains have been delivered and are now hanging in place. A beautiful moment, because curtains truly complete a room. To ensure you enjoy them for as long as possible, it's good to know how to best maintain them. Curtains require a slightly different approach than, for example, clothing. In this article, we explain what you need to pay attention to.
Do not wash, do not iron
Our curtains should not be machine washed or ironed. The fabric, processing, and finishing (such as the lead weight in the bottom hem) are not resistant to this and can be damaged, deformed, or lose their beautiful drape as a result. So, leave the washing machine and iron in the cupboard.
Stain anyway? Here's how to deal with it
If a stain has unexpectedly appeared and the curtain needs cleaning, proceed carefully:
Use a clean cloth with lukewarm water. Hold the fabric from behind with your other hand, as support. Gently dab the stain away, do not rub. Rubbing can damage the fabric structure or spread the stain further.
Then simply let the curtain dry at the window.
